Marine Safety and Yacht Security
Securaccess Inc. is your source for yacht security and marine safety services in the U.S. or internationally. We offer crew background checks, security training, safety plans, physical yacht protection, and more.
The founder of Securaccess, Jim Kelleher, served as the security director for one of the largest fleet of privately-owned Feadships and Gulfstream jets in the world. He is a U.S. Merchant Marine Officer and Master Captain. Mr. Kelleher’s career experience with the U.S. Secret Service, Interpol, the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), U.S. Coast Guard and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), allows him to bring international “best practices” in marine security to private and corporate yacht owners.
Your yacht security and marine safety matters are handled discreetly and professionally. We understand your need to implement the highest level of marine security services available, without attracting undue public or private scrutiny. Our marine and yacht security services are listed below.
Yacht Crew Security Training and Safety Exercises
Securaccess assists yacht owners, insurance carriers, and captains in maintaining a highly trained crew using practical security exercises and safety plans. We provide yacht crews with weapons training to insure the proper storage, handling, and use of firearms, pistols, rifles and other protective devices. Anti-stowaway training is another way we enable crew members to minimize potential risks at sea. Our real-life scenarios help crew members maintain an increased awareness of potentially dangerous situations, and a practiced ability to respond appropriately for life safety and physical yacht protection.
We conduct annual yacht security assessments, safety audits, and hurricane preparedness evaluations to identify current security weaknesses or hidden redundancies. Using a “zero-based” budgeting approach to yacht security planning, we frequently are able to identify overlapping security measures that can be streamlined for potentially significant cost savings without sacrificing appropriate security levels.
Executive, Dignitary and VIP Protective Security
Jim Kelleher's experience included assignment to the Secret Service security detail of five U.S. Presidents, heads of state, and Pope John Paul II. Providing carefully detailed travel plans that guard against physical danger, personal attack, and other high risk marine situations are essential to ongoing safe yacht operation.
Threat Assessments for New or High-Risk Destinations
When your pleasure or business yacht travel takes you to isolated or high risk destinations in Central America, Latin America, Mexico or other locations, we will create a detailed emergency management and security plan. Our emergency preparedness plans include the identification of hospitals, clinics, police facilities, embassies, and private security resources. The safety of your crew and physical security of the yacht are our highest priorities.
Merger and Acquisition (M&A) Due Diligence
Over the course of your yachting experience, there are times when your plans involve the purchase or sale of a yacht. We can assist yacht owners, captains or security directors in the necessary due diligence investigations, including purchaser and seller verification, crew background checks and safety records.
IRS Tax Compliance
The Internal Revenue Services (IRS) now requires an independent security assessment if a private citizen or corporate taxpayer deducts security services from their corporate federal tax returns. Securaccess, Inc. can provide you with IRS-compliant security audits and assessments for yachts, private aircraft, marine safety, or aviation security matters.
